All,
I am Roland Keller and along with 1SG (now CSM) Billy Chaney and SPC Joshua Freeman reactivated Delta Company (Hounds), 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division officially in August 2005 (officially in November). I was honored to have then Regimental Sergeant Major Hugh F. O'reilly and his wife Yuko present along with MSG Jerry McKinney and LTC Pete Elson, both of whom were in D/2-27 in Vietnam and are now some of my dearest friends. I had the great fortune of commanding the company for 30 months in Hawaii and while deployed for 15 months in Northern Iraq conducting sustained combat operations.

I have also had the honor of spending time with my Wolfhound brothers at the annual Regimental reunions. One thing that is apparent to me is that those gatherings and the knowledge shared by those that have served under the Company Guidon cannot be lost. I'd like to propose that we Delta Hounds put forward an effort at the reunions or other gatherings to tell/record our stories (as groups that were present) and the history we experienced for current and future generations to have and learn from. What we experienced before during and after our wars should not be lost, and there is no better unit in the army to convey those experiences to future Soldiers. May they be Delta Hounds (if they're lucky).

My command has in the last two years, almost all moved on to other units or left the Army, but I plan to begin getting them together online (hopefully here) , and at the reunions to ensure we have what you have found by remaining together.

Wedge

Forest I talked with wedge last week. Told him(for the 20th time) he needed a computer. His exact words were "never". He is a hard head. And yes there are a lot of people who, mention Wedge and when I tell him he always says who?

Thanks

Thanks for getting me onto this site, Dana. Nice job. Maybe you can get Wedge to buy a computer and join the 21st century. He would enjoy reconnecting with all of the guys who keep asking about him.

Hopefully The new Era Deltahounds will have what we didn't, a place to see our buddies. We for the most part came home with no way to find our old friends.

Reading you're words here is a start. Thank you for being here for me. I talked with Risky today, what a good friend he has been to me. I gave him a small preview of the adminn function.
